On October 23 – 25, 2019 international scientific and practical workshop organized by the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine under the auspices of the Project Coordinator of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the European Union Anticorruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) on " National Risks Assessment as a Tool of Tackling Illicit Financial Flows " is held in Chernivtsi.
Representatives of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, the Regional Coordinator of EU-ACT project, the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, law enforcement authorities and etc. take part in the workshop as a speakers and experts.
During the workshop, special attention to the antilegalization as a strategic state priority, sectoral risk assessments of the securities market in the financial monitoring area, sectoral risk assessments of the banking system in the financial monitoring area, risk assessments of the non-profit sector, etc. is paid.
As Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine Igor Cherkaskyi noted: “This workshop is a very important international event in view of the current issues of managing national risks and the further development of the national system of prevention and counteraction to the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, terrorism financing and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction".
The SFMS further plans to continue its cooperation with the Project Coordinator of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the European Union Anticorruption Initiative in Ukraine, in the framework of conducting similar events at central and regional levels.
